BBC Radio 1 DJ, Sarah Cox, and comedian and star of ITV’s Celebrity Juice, Rufus Hound, will be travelling the country in celebration of projects funded by The National Lottery.
The campaign, called ‘Cox & Hound Hit The Road’, has been promoted on The National Lottery’s Facebook page and will be taking place between 14 – 18 November 2011.
Where the duo actually travels will be decided by a public vote on the Facebook page . Brighton and Hove’s residents are encouraged to vote for local nominees, Harvest Brighton and Hove.
The home-grown food organisation is on a shortlist of 10, from 365,000+ original candidates, and will be competing in the ‘South’ category, against The Folkestone Triennial – an art project.
DJ, and one half of the road-trippers, Sarah Cox, said of the campaign: “I think the road-trip is a great chance to show everyone who plays or has played The National Lottery, just what their money actually means to local communities.”
If Harvest Brighton and Hove are successful, by receiving the most Facebook votes, the celebrity duo will visit the area on Friday 18 November 2011. They will help harvest the ingredients, before aiding community chef Olly Dawson in whipping up a meal.
The event will be filmed and featured on prime-time national TV.
To vote for Harvest Brighton and Hove, simply visit The National Lottery Facebook page, click on the ‘Cox & Hound’ game on the left-menu and select it from the map of projects.
